Born in Seville (Spain). He graduated from its Conservatorio Superior de Música

Manuel Castillo, saxophone class of Alfonso Padilla. Then he developed his skills working with Vicent David at the conservatory in Versalles. He earned his Master’s degree, having studied saxophone with dr hab. Paweł Gusnar, prof. at the FCUM. He currently holds the position of Paweł Gusnar’s Assistant in that same saxophone class.

He is a prize-winner of numerous competitions. Among his awards are the 3rd Prize from the Adolf Sax International Saxophone Competition in L’Haÿ-les-Roses (France), 2nd place from the Competition organised as part of the All-Poland New Art Sax Festival in Wrocław, 1st Prize fom the 20th and 21st Century Music for Young Performers in Radziejowice and 1st place from the International Saxophone Festival “SaxFest” in Łódź.

The artist performs both classical and contemporary music. He can be heard during numerous festivals in Europe (Spain, France, Netherlands, Poland). He has collaborated with Poland’s finest orchestras: Polish Radio Orchestra, Sinfonia Varsovia. In June 2016 he performed as a soloist with the National Philharmonic Orchestra during the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music diploma candidates’ concert. In October 2017 he performed as a soloist with the Orquesta Sinfónica de Navarra in Spain, at the special invitation of the orchestra’s conductor Antoni Wit.
